A ‘legacy site’ is a depleted or otherwise non-operational site for which the company retains environmental obligations. The long-term management of legacy sites is a significant industry issue. There are cases where regulators are dealing with sites that were inappropriately or inadequately rehabilitated and where previous owners are unable or unwilling to meet their obligations. Our objective is to rehabilitate and divest our legacy sites in a timely manner and in accordance with community expectations, legal obligations and the company's financial objectives. |
