The (LT+MT)IFR for contractors for 2004 was 14.3 compared with 9.1 for WMC employees. The severity of injuries for contractors, as measured by duration rate, was however 22% lower than for WMC employees.

An initiative to develop and implement a consistent approach to all aspects of contractor management was commenced during 2004 but not completed. We plan to continue this work during 2005.
