Hi Fert

Community

Hi Fert’s sponsorship commitments are focused on supporting regional and rural events that strengthen our corporate identity and brand in the market in which we operate, as well as causes where we can deliver support to the communities we service.

In 2004, Hi Fert sponsored The Advanced Diploma of Agriculture (Dairy) at The University of Melbourne, aimed at promoting Australia’s competitive advantage in the dairy industry and increase opportunities for young farmers. The 2.5 year course is Australia’s first tertiary level course in dairy farm management and offers students a unique combination of formal campus training and practical on farm experience.

The fertilizer business depends on a strong and vibrant dairy sector, and Hi Fert sees this course as a valuable way of supporting industry and assisting with the education of Australia’s future farm managers.

Hi Fert also sponsored the Australian Dairy Conference held in Shepparton in February of 2004. This conference brought together key leaders in the dairy industry to share information and ideas. Hi Fert’s two sponsored presentations, Fertilizer: Friend or Foe and the Gold’N (sulphur coated urea) product launch and dairy nutrient package were a great success, with many farmers learning more about the benefits of using Hi Fert fertilizers.

The Grasslands Society convention held in Launceston Tasmania was another opportunity to update industry representatives and farmers on Hi Fert’s progressive nutrition programs.

Hi Fert also supported one of Australia’s most successful Landcare projects in sustainable agriculture and land management, the Woady Yaloak Catchment Project. This group went on to win a national Landcare award for their work.
