WMC Resources Ltd owns and operates the Mt Keith nickel mine and processing operations (MKO), located in the Agnew-Wiluna greenstone belt, in the North Eastern Goldfields region, 700 kilometres north-east of Perth in Western Australia. The operation is surrounded by pastoral stations with the nearest townships being Wiluna, 80 kilometres to the north, and Leinster, 90 kilometres to the south.

MKO operates under a fly-in fly-out arrangement for all personnel with employees housed in a self sufficient village complex 12km south of the operating facilities. Commuting arrangements are based upon jet flights direct to Perth although many employees choose to reside in towns and cities other than Perth.

During 2004, our workforce of 197 employees and some 291 contractors produced 43 075 tonnes of nickel-in-concentrate without incurring any lost time through work-related injury.
